Loft Conversion Example
DORMER CONVERSION1. Erect scaffolding.
2. Create opening in roof for access. (Work is carried out from outside of the property for first 3-4 weeks to minimise inconvenience and dust)
3. Steel beams are delivered and lifted into place by crane. With these beams in place we create the suspended floor.
4. We will then have the first visit arranged for the building inspector to approve our floor construction.
5. We then move onto the dormer in week 4, erecting the dormer and making it water tight for inspection by the building inspector. All internal partitions and insulations to meet building control regulations are carried out.
6. Tiling of the new dormer starts to take place in week 3-4 along with breaking through the ceiling to create a new staircase.
7. Electrical, Plumbing and all internal partitions and insulations to meet building control regulations are carried out.
8. After these have taken place we will be into week 5-8, when plastering, second fixing for woodwork, electrical and plumbing will be finished. The loft is now ready for the final inspection typically by the end of week 8.
